Property Description

Situated at the desired and tranquil east end of Haliburton’s largest lake, Kawagama Lake, this 1550 square foot winterized 3 bedroom cedar cottage awaits your arrival.

It is a very private, treed property with 200 feet of shoreline.  The entry into the cottage is across level ground with only a few steps up to the entrance.  The large well appointed kitchen has a seating area with a large harvest table and 8 chairs.  The living room has a vaulted ceiling, many windows and a sliding door that goes out to the deck.  Comfortable seating ensures this is a great spot for watching the satellite TV or a DVD.

A main floor laundry, 3 ample bedrooms and a large 4 piece bathroom complete the main floor.  The basement has a ping pong table but is unfinished.

Head outside to the lawn where there is plenty of room for playing sports or try out the large trampoline with safety net.  As the cottage location is fairly elevated you get a fabulous view across the lake from this vantage point.  When you are ready to head down to the lake there is a double railing wooden staircase.  Here you will find a large L shaped dock perfect for jumping or diving into the water.  Watch the sunset from here – it is breathtaking!  Borrow the canoe and do a little sight seeing or fishing.  There are lake trout and bass in this deep lake.  You can even fish from the dock.

Explore the area during your stay- the Town of Dorset is a short 15 minute drive and has the well renowned Dorset General Store.  Then you can climb to the top of the Dorset Fire Tower and see the panoramic view which is particularly beautiful in the fall when the fall colour is vibrant with reds, oranges and yellows.  Also close by is the Dorset Lion’s Camp which accommodates dialysis patients for a wonderful holiday away from home.
