It's hard to tell just where the horizon line is between the far shore and the tree line. A layer of cobalt blue, an endless variant of greens and another layer of blue, stacked one atop the other. This is a the oil painting in the McMichael Collection. This must be just what the artist saw.
You're the first up. The automatic coffee maker worked perfectly and you're enjoying this moment in solitude. And in silence.

Surreptitiously, you slip on sandals and slip out the door. Morning dew chilling, but pleasing on your toes, you stroll to the dock and walk out to the end.
Impossibly, the view from here is worlds better than the one from inside the cottage and your camera is back at the cottage with the family.
They all tucked in early. The travel day was full. Several stops along the way. Weber's for their world famous burgers, shakes and fries. The Muskoka Store for an hour of unexpected joyful shopping. The stop for local Northern Ontario fruit and the lovely chat with the proprietor.
Lost in this Muskoka beauty, you are conflicted. Do you tread back to the cottage and rummage for your camera? This perfect moment can't last forever. Perhaps you should just stay and drink it all in.
